Working in small groups or one on one allows for a more hands on approach to the development process. I can tailor the entire session to the goaltenders specific needs, while having adequate time to dissect each set of drills and make comments or corrections. I like to focus on a specific area of goaltending for a session, and build from footwork, through controlled saves, into competing in said area to develop proper muscle memory. In a typical hour long session you can expect around 20 minutes of footwork warm ups, 20 minutes of controlled situation drills that incorporate said footwork, and finish up with 20 minutes of competition drills that are game situation drills. In these last 20 minutes the games will incorporate the movements we have built throughout the first 40 minutes, while also developing the goaltenders sense of compete and ability to buckle down and make a save with the game on the line. I am also able to run off ice goalie specific workout sessions before or after an on ice session.
