“My name is Wyatt Waselenchuk, and I am the Co-Founder of GoalieCoaches – the largest online platform for all things goaltending. Personally, I have been running large-scale goaltender development programs for nearly 10 years. This past summer, we saw nearly 300 goaltenders attend our programs, throughout the  Midwestern part of the United States and Canada. During the season, I have been an assistant coach in the North American Hockey League, for the past 6 seasons - where we have moved on 12 goaltenders to NCAA D1, and professional levels. I met Matt online thru our Facebook Group, “Goalie Parents”. I immediately recognized his name and quickly found some videos he had been posting, in which he was doing some coaching. I really enjoyed his on-ice drills and his enthusiasm for the position. From there, I was interested in bringing him in to help out at one of our camps. We are always looking for top-notch help, and Matt fits the bill perfectly. We brought him in to work our largest camp, in Whitefish, Montana. I quickly realized what a great asset Matt would be for our team. Matt was professional and incredibly knowledgeable. Having the playing background that he has had up until this point is no fluke. He is a student of the game. He was meticulous in his approach, built a quick rapport with the kids, and kept it enjoyable - all while teaching incredibly valuable components of the game. He was very innovative throughout our week together. I found myself picking up tips and pointers that he was passing along to our campers all week and have since built them into some of my own coaching philosophies. I would highly recommend Matt as a coach to any parent looking for their goalie to make improvements. He took the time with each individual, no matter their age, or skill level - to make sure every repetition mattered. That in itself is something that is tough to find in a coach. Aside from the technical aspects, Matt has a great understanding of the mental side of the game, and the positive impact that having a strong mind will do to take your game to the next level. Above all else, he’s an incredibly enjoyable person to be around, which puts an emphasis on having fun first and foremost!” - Wyatt Waselenchuk (Co-founder “Goalie Coaches”, coaching experience in NCAA, NAHL)
